Sydney Sun Can Damage Our Skin, Causing Wrinkles & Loss Of Volume. At STAR dentistry Sydney, We Can Help You Fix It!
Harsh Australian Sun causes most of the premature ageing in our skin. UV rays from the sun causes wrinkles, loss of elasticity, pigmentation, degradation of texture and yellowing of the skin. Comprehensive sunscreen use can reduce these effects, but what if the effects have already happened?
A good skin health regime is important for hydration, but after that, muscle relaxants and dermal fillers can help to wind back the clock on ageing.
what are muscle relaxants? And how do they work?
Muscle relaxants are neurotoxins derived from Clostridium Botulinum, an organism that is largely non toxic, and found in the natural environment. They paralyse the muscles that are overworking, which causes the folding/wrinkles in the skin that lies on top. Once the muscle stops working, the skin softens out and the wrinkles disappear.
what are dermal fillers? and how do they work?
Dermal Fillers are an injectable volumiser usually made form Hyaluronic Acid. The hylaluronic acid instantly plumps up the area giving volume, but also attracts moisture, giving a beautiful hydrated appearance and healthier skin.
How long do dermal filler and muscle relaxants/anti wrinkle injections last?
It varies from patient to patient, but on average, most patients top up after 4-6 months. It is common for fillers to last up to 12 months though.
how much does it cost?
The price depends on how much of the product is used, call the office today to hear our specials or alternatively book a free consultation using the button below
Cosmetic injectables and dentistry
Muscle relaxants/anti wrinkle injections have been widely accepted into dentistry.
They have been used therapeutically in dentistry for years, treating overactive muscles in patients that grind their teeth (bruxism) and also dropping the top lip in the with “gummy” smiles. More recently however, it has become apparent that all of the beautiful work we do on a daily basis, orthodontics, teeth whitening, veneers etc was being let down by the frame around it, the lips and face so we decided to do something about it.
As dentists, we have a fantastic knowledge of head and neck anatomy, as well as giving more daily injections than pretty much any other profession, so it made sense to finally combine the cosmetic and dental industries…plus we are really good at it!
Why choose your dentist?
Dental clinics are subject to the most stringent cross infection control legislations, as strict as hospitals, so you can be safe in the knowledge that your injections will be in the cleanest and safest environment possible.
Your dentist knows you better than any other medical practitioner! Most people have had their dentist for years and visit them every 6/12 months. Name another medical professional that you visit so often? This puts them perfectly placed to administer injectables or fillers at your dental check up, no extra visits needed, no need to travel to another clinic.
Dermal fillers can be a painful procedure, but not at your dentist! We are the only ones able to administer local anaesthetic prior to the procedure to ensure an absolutely pain free experience.
Anonymity! Nobody likes to admit they have cosmetic injectables, let alone walk into a dedicated clinic. We can administer your fillers and muscle relaxants with total anonymity, you were just at the dentist…no one will ever know!
